At the end of May, I graduated from the Center for Global Action (CGA), the discipleship and leadership program I began attending in January. Five months may not seem like a lot, but I experienced so much growth during that short time, and it’s only because the Lord was at work in my life! It would take pages for me to tell you everything I learned, but here are two key things the Lord and my leaders taught me. The first thing is I am a child of God and I am loved by Him unconditionally. The mistakes I make do not define me and they are not my identity. The Lord showed me that even though I knew these things in my head, they were not settled in my heart. I had been trying to paint the walls of my house when my foundation was cracked and shaky. During CGA, the Lord and I addressed my foundation, and we repaired the cracks by replacing lies with truth. I can now say with confidence who I am and Whose I am! The second thing I learned is that I have influence and I am a leader! I realized even more that leading doesn’t always look the way the world says it should look. I don’t have to be loud and domineering to lead others, and throughout the semester I learned ways to stay true to myself and still lead well.
Speaking of leadership, I am excited to announce the next opportunity the Lord placed in my path. It is an opportunity that He showed me in April, and after much prayer and consideration, I said yes! I AM CO-LEADING A MISSION TRIP TO GUATEMALA!!! It is through the Ambassador program at Adventures in Missions. The trip is for high schoolers, and my particular team consists of 16 girls! We are leaving June 24 and will be gone for about two weeks. We will actually be going to Chimaltenango, the same city in Guatemala that I was in while on the World Race! I will even get to see some of the same missionaries that work with Adventures in Missions at the Base. I am beyond ecstatic to return to that beautiful city and experience it with a new group of people!!! Here are just some of the things we will be doing while we are there: VBS and children’s ministry, working with a feeding program, outreach and evangelism, manual labor, and women’s ministry. It is going to be so much fun, I can’t wait to tell you all about it when I return!
I am in need of your support, both through prayer and donations. Pray for the girls who are on my team, that they will come with open hearts to what the Lord wants to do in their lives during this trip. Pray for myself and my co-leader, that we will lead with humility, compassion, and grace. Pray that our ministry will be fruitful and that the Lord is already preparing the hearts of the people we will minister to. And lastly, pray that love is at the center of everything we do and say!
I also need help raising the money I need to fund the trip. The total cost of the trip is $1,147. This goes towards plane tickets to and from Guatemala, lodging, and food. Any donation you can give will play a huge part in helping me reach this goal!!! Donate here on my blog!
Thank you so much for reading! If you have any questions, please let me know! God bless and much love!!! 🙂
